British Sugar has partnered with AgriSound to launch an innovative two-year pollinator monitoring project on a large farming estate in North Norfolk.

Project Duration:
2025 – 2027

Project Location
North Norfolk, UK

Objective:
The project aims to collect real-time data on pollinator activity, particularly bees, to better understand biodiversity and inform sustainable agricultural practices.

Technology:
AgriSound’s Polly™ acoustic sensors will be deployed to continuously monitor insect activity. This cutting-edge technology enables automated, scalable, and real-time biodiversity tracking.

Key Benefits:
🐝Enhanced understanding of pollinator health and behaviour.
🐝Data-driven decisions on land use, pest management, and habitat creation.
🐝Long-term potential to improve biodiversity and sustainability in sugar beet farming and broader agricultural practices.

Significance:
This initiative supports British Sugar’s sustainability goals and sets a precedent for using technology to protect UK pollinators and ecosystems.
